Fast Facts - June 2016

Summer is (supposedly) hot on our heels – and yet the weather is dreary and dank like a winter’s day. We waste no time in bringing a little sunshine to your life in the form of a few key industry updates. Here’s our monthly round-up of the latest HR communication and marketing statistics shaping our world. This month we reveal:

56% of job seekers worldwide say an employer’s brand/reputation is more important today than it was five years ago1

If your employer brand isn’t at the top of the HR agenda, then it should be. Recent research reveals this is a critical component for talent attraction.

50% of misogynistic tweets are from women2

Research conducted by Think Tank Demos, also reviewed international tweets and found more than 200,000 aggressive tweets were sent to 80,000 people over three weeks.

62% of respondents between 16-20 years report an interview is just as much about interviewing a prospective employer as it is about the employer interviewing them3

Thus highlighting candidates that step on to the career ladder for the first time are not taking decisions lightly.

Snapchat users are watching 10 billion videos everyday4

The large majority of users are creating and sharing videos within their networks, rather than content curation. The latest figures from Snapchat are an impressive jump from 8 billion back in February.

94% of employers surveyed view well-being as important to their organisation5

Furthermore, the Workplace Wellbeing Index reports only 31% of employers have a well-being strategy in place; indicating a gap between corporate needs and reality.
