When our contact at O2 (Telefonica) left to join S&P Global as VP HR for EMEA & Asia Pacific, we were delighted to be recommended as the agency of choice for employee communications to their new team.
Our first project with S&P Global was developing a manager's guide to communication back in 2012 filled with top tips and best practise, something we produced for the Ratings part of the business. We have since built a long-standing relationship progressing across the S&P Global group, and across several service areas – including Talent, Reward and general HR and Internal Communications.
Fast-forward over a decade and we have a great friendship with the S&P Global team, enjoying regular trips to New York and Canary Wharf to spend time with them. This strong relationship is one of the bases of our success when working on projects together and changing the face of their employee communication to make it more engaging, and easier to understand and access.
Engagement and adoption of a new reward and career framework - My Career Map.
S&P Global had completed an important piece of work to finalise a reward and career framework – essentially a map of every role within the organisation and its associated skills and requirements. Whilst this was partly done to ensure they were aligned with the market, the team also saw what a great story it represented and an exciting opportunity for every employee at S&P Global. For the first time, every single role was open and available to see in complete transparency and every employee could see where their skills, experience and aspirations would be the best fit. This ‘opening up’ of careers formed the basis of a long-term communication campaign to ensure that employees understood the diverse range of opportunities that were available to them and were empowered to take those opportunities forward.
The central hub of the campaign was a dedicated SSO (Single Sign On) microsite, supported by a series of roll-out communications, animated explainer videos and more.
Designed and developed by our specialists, the dedicated website enables S&P Global to provide highly personalised content based on their position within the company. Taking employees on a journey to show what other roles are available for progression – be it within their own department or elsewhere in the business – provided they have the desire and ability to grow their career.
The use of data and technology enabled us to create a very relevant and personalised experience. We also created a visually exciting brand identity, a managers toolkit, employee guide, email series for managers and employees, newsletters, FAQs and an introductory video highlighting the S&P global career opportunities and routes.
